Dr. Phillip Hofmann

Universities of Hamburg, Münster and Paris V; 1st State Exam 2010; 2012 - 2014 Research Associate at the “Institute for Legal Informatics” at Leibniz University Hannover (Prof. Dr. Axel Metzger’s Chair); 2013 - 2015 Legal Clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg; 2nd State Exam 2015; PhD in the field of Intellectual Property with special references to Software-Law 2015 (Summa cum Laude).

As a lawyer Phillip Hofmann is specialized in Data Protection and Cyber Security as well as in IT-Law, in particular Software-Procurement and Licensing. In addition, he is capable to advise clients in all areas of Media-Law and Intellectual Property. He represents our clients’ interests in contract negotiations as well as litigation disputes and focuses on anticipatory dispute avoidance through foresighted contractual design and creative compromising.

During his legal studies Phillip Hofmann has already focused on the mentioned legal areas and has consistently pursued this specialization during his time as a Research Associate at the “Institute for Legal Informatics” at Leibniz University Hannover (Prof. Dr. Axel Metzger’s Chair) and during his Legal Traineeship, during which he has passed stages at the Chamber of Intellectual Property and Competition Law of the Hamburg Regional Court under the Chairmanship of Dr. Jan Tolkmitt, at the Legal Department of the German Broadcasting Station “Norddeutscher Rundfunk” in Hamburg, in the office of the Hamburg Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information as well as in international advising law firms with focus on Intellectual Property, IT and Data ProtectionLaw.
