Consulting Focus

In his more than 25 years of practice since the firm was founded, Eckart Brödermann has focused on international transactions (including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and international plant construction) as well as international arbitration and litigation. Eckart Brödermann has participated in over 50 arbitration proceedings in various capacities (including as presiding arbitrator under the CIETAC Rules in Shanghai or under the ICC Arbitration Rules in Berlin). In his teaching activities at the University of Hamburg and in his publications, he also focuses on international contract law, in particular risk management issues, and on international arbitration law issues.

"Deal making instead of deal breaking! For that purpose it is often wise to consider the application of general principles and rules as compiled and developed by the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (Unidroit), i.e. the Unidroit Principles of International Commercial Contracts 2016, instead of any national law lacking satisfying solutions for cross-border trade scenarios."
